|POSITION TITLE:||Public Health Registrar (Strategy and Planning)|
|APPLICATION CLOSING DATE:||Open|
Southern DHB is currently seeking applications from Public Health Registrar (Strategy and Planning) in Otago, New Zealand.
A unique opportunity exists for a Public Health Registrar to join Southern District Health Board’s Strategy & Planning team. This team provides intelligence and planning to guide system performance and to inform models of future service provision.
You will therefore be working at the interface between population health and system strategy and funding. A core component of your role will be coordinating the completion of the Southern Health Needs Assessment. The purpose of this project is to inform the planning associated with community-based, primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare service delivery across the District. The information obtained from the HNA will also serve as a monitoring tool to inform health related policy and project work across the district and to evaluate improvements made over time.
Delivery of this digital HNA will require from you a combination of project leadership, interpretation of population health data and system metrics as they relate to our Southern population and health system, and engagement with stakeholders from a public health perspective over application and impact of results.
It comes naturally that you will be a critical thinker and skilled communicator, including in written forms for different audiences. You will be required to operate strategically, planning through various phases of the project, and identifying and addressing risks to missing milestone due dates. Additionally, your comfort working in alignment with the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi means you will maintain an equity lens in the interpretation of population health metrics. Working with our DHB Māori Health leadership team you will ensure the health interests of Māori are present throughout the HNA.
Applications will be considered as they arrive throughout the advertising period, so on the event of a successful applicant being appointed before the closing date, the advertisement may be withdrawn earlier.
